Two arrested in shooting of trucker (South Carolina)

Dillon police arrested two people in connection with the shooting of a trucker inside his truck on Railroad Avenue on July 21.

Jackie Johnson, Jr., 17, and a juvenile, 16, are charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and criminal conspiracy.

The trucker survived the shooting. He told police he was asleep in his truck when he heard a knock at the door. The man outside asked him for directions to a motel and then shot him through the window.. The trucker told police there were two other men standing nearby when he was shot.

The Dillon County Sheriff’s Office, the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office, Bennettsville Police Department and the State Law Enforcement Division assisted in the investigation
